What happened?

Can someone tell me what happened to my city? My wife and I continually dig at each other about who's city is the best. My wife Wendy is from New York and I'm from Detroit. 7 mile and the Southfield freeway to be exact. When I lived in Detroit I loved it. The festivals, Boblo Island, Hart plaza, Palmer park.
I'm an avid boxing fan and I remember when Thomas Hearns knocked out Pipino Cuevas to win the welterweight title. I wanted to be the next Tommy "The Motor City Hitman" Hearns. I even started boxing and won a State championship in 1988 with a 91 second first round knock out. I wanted to be part of the famous Kronk Boxing Gym. The gym where Legends are made. Unfortunately, Detroit is where they all die. Detroit meant everything to me and it still does. I've spent the last few years reading about Detroit architecture and history. Remember when the Detroit Pistons were the "Bad Boys" of the NBA. It was great!!! My love for Detroit runs so deep I still hate the Boston Celtics to this day! Do not speak of the Chicago Blackhawks in my presence or your going down...
The economy in Detroit really sucks and my city is in ruin. Absolute Decay. I guess I'm holding on to a dream that will never come to pass, that my city will rebound to it's glory of years past. I may be taking my life in my hands but I think I'm going to visit this summer and just take it all in and exhale.

Click the title above for a pictorial of the greatest city ever, shed a tear with me, and just pretend it's all a dream.

And just for shiggles: Detroit is great and New York SUCKS!
