The man, The myth, The LEGEND
I've run into a lot of guys actin' like they weren't Michael Jackson fans back in the day. Seriously people, Michael ruled the 80's! I had Michael Jackson buttons, posters, and I even had a homemade glove with silver sequins on it. Laugh and joke all you want, but truth be told, you had dreams of being Mike. Hell, every girl wanted to be Michael's girlfriend back then. Anyway, here's an old interview of Michael at the height of "Thriller."

construction update #3
Here are some interior photos from the store. I spoke to one of the construction guys and he told me August may be when construction is complete. I have a big trip to Vegas for a few trade shows along with a "boys trip" at the same time in September. More than likely I'm gonna open after the travels are complete.
Anyway, I'm thinking of doing the floor in a polished concrete stain in dark chocolate. I want to suede the walls in a grey color accented with white and oversized picture frames in either pewter or black. My wife and I were going over color schemes today and she thinks the grey will look the best. Originally I wanted to use black and white but I thought it may be hard to pull off. Grey with black and white accents will probably work the best when paired with chrome and pewter hardware.
I have to say, I love the windows in my suite! 4 huge windows (9ft x 4ft) facing east and south. I don't think I'm gonna do any window coverings aside from tint which should cut down on summer heat. What's gonna be really cool is when 4th of July (my favorite holiday) rolls around next year. I may invite a few friends over to watch fireworks from the store. Being on the 3rd floor has its advantages! If I get a chance this weekend I'll take some pictures of the view from the suite so you can see whats happening in town.

Imperial... the holy grail of denim

Imperial denim from Austrailia has to be some of the best denim on the market. Raw denim in a rich dark blue hue. True denim heads can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into these jeans. I think the most interesting effect of raw denim jeans has to be "honeycombing". This happens when you buy a pair a little longer than your normal inseam and you wear them for a year or so without washing them. You let the natural elements take effect. The color starts to fade and the creases in the rear of the leg develop a honeycomb-like design.
I know it sounds crazy not washing jeans for a year but denim was intended to be work-wear for miners and such. They rarely washed their jeans. Granted, I'm no miner but I do like denim, and I do like Imperial.
For those interested, take a look at the wonderful pictorial on the Imperial site that shows their denim process from shearing sheep to adding the buttons.
Look for Imperial at JG Smith this fall in limited supply.
