This has to be the biggest problem for curvy women. Jeans that fit the butt and thighs but not the waist. I think I found the solution. Take a look at the video and expect to see them in the store this fall.

More style
I'm pretty sure my mom hated that I watched these movies. Growing up in Detroit was all about style and having the cleanest (nicest) cars, and the dopest vines! Once again, I looked to the movies for inspiration.
Superfly was the man. Don't believe it? Watch how he clears the fence when he's going after his money!

Watch out for that truck!
People often ask me where I get my sense of style from. I can put my finger on one particular thing. I watched a lot of t.v. back in the day which shaped my sense of what I thought people should look like in their clothes. Stylish! I watched a lot of blaxploitation flicks when I went to my cousins house. I thought the action stars had the coolest clothes. Leather blazers, fedoras and some cool music while twisting a Lincoln Continental with suicide doors. Yessir, thats what I wanted to be. My mom had other plans... Take a look at the trailer for "Truck Turner" and get a glimpse into my warped mind.
I gotta get one of these!!!
Ok people, seriously. This has to be the worst commercial in 47 states( some states are known for foolishness). I saw this commercial the other day at around 3am and thought it was a joke or something. No such luck.

Did you know Dumbo is in Brooklyn?
I've been following a line of handbags for about a year or so. I first heard of Corrente Bags from a company called Showroom New York. Prior to my trip to New York I decided to give the designer a call and hopefully order some bags for the store. Surprisingly I got a hold of the designer Corrie who I later found has family ties to Cornelius, NC. Corrie and I decide that when I get to NY we would meet at Dumbo in Brooklyn. I didn't realize DUMBO, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, I truly thought it was an entertainment complex for kids.
Upon meeting Corrie for Lunch I also got to meet a close friend of hers who happens to know the lead singer of the "Brunettes"!
After lunch we head over to Corrie's factory at the Brooklyn Naval Yard where she shows me some incredibly soft leather handbags. The interior of the bags are lined with beautiful fabrics that definitely add a nice touch. I ordered a number of bags from the fall line-up and definitely look forward to doing some projects with Corrie in the near future.
Here are a couple of pics for you to get a sneak peek, and you can view the previous collections here

A little press never hurt anybody!
I'm a little excited folks! I got a little blurb in the town paper about the store opening this fall. Trust me people, it's gonna be the "bidness" when it's done. Here's an excerpt from the article below.
Even as the 19,000-square-foot building nears completion, however, the lineup of tenants is still not complete.
Mr. Stewart will have an office in the new building, as will his wife, Betsy, who operates a self-storage company. Baybridge Management, a Davidson-based health care management company, also will move into the second floor, from its current offices in the Davidson Clinic building on Griffith Street.
Investors have bought the first-floor retail space, though they are still searching for a restaurant or retail tenant.
Others in the building will include a hair salon and a clothing boutique called jgSmith Premium Denim & Thread. Owner Jason Dunigan is lining up inventory, choosing fixtures and designing the layout of his small upstairs space. He said he’s “seeking new designers that can bring a cutting edge to the Davidson community, without stepping too far out of the box." And he’s working with a designer to develop his own line of men’s leather messenger bags.
“I’m really excited about the showroom/store opening this fall and being able to help customers find the right clothing to fit their style and persona,” Mr. Dunigan said in an email.
